Women's basketball improves SLIAC mark to 5-1

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team received 21 points from Coley Baker to defeat Fontbonne 70-58 and maintain its second place position in the SLIAC standings.
The Lady Panthers made over 50 percent of its field goal attempts as they converted 25-of-48 attempts and held Fontbonne to a 35 percent 21-of-60 mark.
Fontbonne led 20-14 after one stanza, but Greenville used a 23-8 second quarter to take a 37-28 halftime lead. Greenville expanded their lead with an 18-11 third quarter to enter the fourth quarter up 55-39.
Greenville outrebounded Fontbonne 39-25.
Taylor Paulin and Laura Goodnight each produced nine points.
Kelly Lenz added eight rebounds, and Claire Schmitt posted four assists and three steals.
The Lady Panthers (9-4, 5-1 SLIAC) host Principia Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
