Women's Indoor Track and Field Travels to Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.--The Lady Panthers opened their indoor season competing in the Titan First Chance Meet. Maggie McMurtrey, Taylor Brunner, and Gabby Perdue each had noteworthy finishes in their respective events.
McMurtrey, a senior veteran, had an impressive showing in the weight throw, recording a distance of 14.07 meters. Her 2nd place finish was her team's best throughout the meet.
Brunner, a senior from Oreana, Ill., competed in multiple events in the meet, with her best performance being a 1.50 meter high jump. Her impressive jump earned her 6th place overall. Brunner also finished 9th in the long jump and 20th in the shot put.
Perdue, a Lexington, Ky. native, had an excellent showing in her first college competition. The freshman recorded a 6th place finish in the 300 meter dash with a time of 43.91.
The women will take a well-deserved Christmas break and will be back in action Saturday, January 18 when they will compete in the EIU John Craft Meet.
