Women's soccer posts a tie against undefeated Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. The womens soccer team rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to force a 3-3 draw on Saturday night in Elmhurst and hand the undefeated Blue Jays their first tie of the season.

Elmhurst took a 2-0 lead with goals in the fifth and 15th minutes of the game.

Greenville got on the scoreboard when Tymber Gabbert teamed up with Dani Pearce and Jen Brakenhoff on a goal in the 24th minute.

Barbara Nigro was assisted by Whitney Warner in the 29th minute to tie the score.

Elmhurst added a goal in the 43rd minute to take a 3-2 lead at halftime.

Greenvilles Kieley Leach posted her second goal of the season in the 65th minute with an assist from Nigro.

Greenville made the most of its five shots, putting all three of its shots on goal in the net.

Goalkeeper Hope Brakenhoff had a save in the first and second periods as she faced five shots on goal.

Elmhurst outshot Greenville 14-5 in the contest.

The Lady Panthers (1-2-1) will attempt to even their record as they travel to Rockford on Monday.
