Women’s Basketball Receives Two Post-Season SLIAC Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. GC juniors Ieisha Adams and Laura Hobbie were named All-SLIAC honorable mentions as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2011-2012 award winners for womens basketball.

Belleville, Ill. product and guard Adams led the Panthers in rebounding (5.6) and assits (3.5) while pouring in 11.1 points per game in conference play. For her efforts in 2012 Adams was named to the honorable mention All-SLIAC team.

Hobbie, a junior sharpshooter from Vandalia, Ill., joined teammate Adams on the All-SLIAC honorable mention team for her seasons performance. Hobbie netted 10.4 points per game while shooting over 40% from behind the arc (second in the SLIAC). The junior also nabbed 4.6 rebounds per contest.

Eureka College's Caty Eeten was named the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year to go along with her four Player of the Week awards she earned throughout the 2011-12 season. The other SLIAC award winners were also announced, including Webster's Cassie Endicott as Newcomer of the Year and Eureka's Taren Martin as Coach of the Year.

Westminster College (Mo.) receivedthe Sportsmanship Award for thefirst time since the award's inception in 2005-06.The team Sportsmanship Award is given to the team whose players, coaches and fans best exhibit the principles of good sportsmanship.

The SLIAC also recognizes one individual from each team, selected by his coach and teammates, who throughout the season best displays the ideals fo sportsmanship. The 2011-12 All-Sportsmanship Team includes Charitie Goodman (Blackburn), Khassandrae Brown (Eureka), Hillary Johnson (Fontbonne), Emmalee Fladland (Greenville), Kelsey Anderson (MacMurray), Lindsay Sydness (Principia), Megan Davis (Spalding), Megan Willett (Webster) andTalisha Washington(Westminster).
