Women's Cross Country Falls Behind at Wash U

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The GC women's cross country team traveled to Washington University to run in Forest Park on Friday. The ladies cound not hold off the defending NCAA champion Bears and lost the meet 15-40.

GC was lead by juniorRosie Nelson, who finished in eighth place with a time of 17:30. Aubree Schreder, a junior runner back from injury last year, ran in 17:38, finishing ninth overall andsecond for Greenville.

Washington University claimed the top seven spots, with freshman runnerBriana Tiffany finishing first with a time of 16:03.

The ladies are looking forward to running again Friday, September 14, at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships. They will travel to Normal, Ill. in hopes of returning with their first win of the season.
