Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill. Despite outshooting CSC 23-14 in Tuesday afternoons match, the Panthers fell 4-1 at Francis Field.

Greenvilles sophomore midfielder Maureen Murphy helped the squad avoid the shutout with her late goal in the 70th minute. Teammate Kayla Panzau offered the assist.

Culver-Stockton forward Katie McBride put the visiting Wildcats on the board early with a pair of goals in the fifth and seventh minutes of first period play. McBride would contribute again in the 34th minute with an assist to teammate Kelseigh Ruths and put CSC up 3-0 heading into intermission.

In the opening minutes of second half action McBride struck again, notching her third goal of the contest and extending the margin to 4-0. GCs Murphy struck her shot in the 70th on a well-placed pass from Panzau to put Greenville on the board in the 4-1 defeat.

With the loss, womens soccer falls to 3-4 in 2011, and will next take the field Saturday, September 22 as they open conference play against MacMurray at Francis Field at 2:00 pm.
