Women's Soccer Ties Monmouth 0-0 in Double OT

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The women's soccer team battled hard for 110 minutes against Monmouth College on Saturday with a result of 0-0. It was a cold and rainy day which led for a challenging match.

The Lady Panthers outshot Monmouth 8-3 in the first half with a couple of great chances but struggled to find the back of the net.

In the second half, the Lady Panthers continued to battle for possession but again struggled to put the match away. It was a hard battle for field possession and a true test of fitness.

After 90 minutes, it was still scoreless which let to sudden death overtime. Twenty minutes later and after giving everything they had, the Lady Panthers would finish the match with a 0-0 draw.

Freshman Heidi Koehl (Belleville, Ill.) earned the shutout with five saves on the day.

The Lady Panthers moved to a 4-1-1 record and will host Oakland City on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the John Strahl Athletic Complex.
