Women's Soccer Tops Spalding 3-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The women's soccer team topped Spalding 3-1 Saturday as Kieley Leach,Natalie Henneberry, and Kayla Panzau each posted goals.

Leach was the first to find the back of the net, as she scored an unassisted goal in the game's30th minute. She was the only player to score in the first half, making the halftime score 1-0 GC.

NatalieHenneberrywas next to get a Greenville goal, as she finished a corner kick from Mo Murphy to bring the Lady Panthers up 2-0 with 13 minutes left in the game. Spalding decided they were not going to go down easy, and, in the 86th minute, Katie Ballard scored off of a pass from Kelsie Parido to get the Golden Eagles on the scoreboard. fortunately for GC, Kayla Panzau answered right back and put another goal in the net just 15 seconds later to bring the game to it's final score, 3-1 Greenville.

GC outshot the Eagles 15-13, with Panther keeper Heidi Koehl picking up five saves in the victory.

The win improved Greenville's record to 4-6-1 and allowed them tojump ahead to a 1-0 mark in SLIAC action. The women return to action Monday at Benedictine - Springfield.
