Women’s Tennis Stumbles Against Westminster, Drops Matches 7-2

GREENVILLE, Ill. Womens tennis (2-6, 1-1 SLIAC) stumbled against SLIAC opponent Westminster College on Thursday, as the Lady Panthers were defeated 7-2 on the courts of the Scott J. Burgess Tennis Complex. Despite the loss, Greenville claimed two out of three doubles matches in the contest posting scores of 8-6 and 8-4.

In doubles play, the combinations of #1 Jamie Harling and Katie Maurer, and #3 Avery Cole and Shayla Story claimed victories by margins of 8-6 and 8-4, respectively, to serve GC the 2-1 decision.

However, the Lady Bluejays of Westminster countered with a 6-0 sweep in singles play to clinch the 7-2 overall victory.

Womens tennis will resume action on Monday, April 4, as they battle Blackburn in a 5:00 pm match.
