Women’s XC Travels to Indiana, Participates in Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, IND. Womens cross country competed in Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Gibson Invitational on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.

Greenville College was led by sophomore Rosie Nelson who posted a team-leading time of 27:56.5. Nelson claimed the 89th spot overall and registered a pace of 7:30 to lead GCs efforts on Saturday.

Rose Hulman and the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau teamed up to host the third annual Gibson Family Collegiate Cross Country Classic, held at the LaVern Gibson Course.

The meet featured 380 student-athletes from 14 colleges and universities in eight states. Teams traveled to Terre Haute from Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The meet also showcased three of the top seven teams in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region on the men's side, including No. 2 Wabash, No. 6 DePauw and No. 7 Manchester. The Little Giants are also ranked No. 14 nationally.

Womens cross country will next hit the course at the highly competitive Evansville invitational on Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 am. Greenville will also take a group of athletes to the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational on Saturday, with details to be provided when available.
