Men’s Tennis Faces NAIA Missouri Baptist; Drops Contest 8-1

ELSAH, Ill. – The Greenville men’s tennis squad again traveled to the campus of Principa College on Monday night, and faced NAIA powerhouse Missouri Baptist University in a 7:00 pm night match.

Despite a valiant team effort, the Spartans of MBU handled the Black & Orange 8-1, with GC freshman Alex Dowley registering the only win of the night’s contest.

“MBU was a really tough squad,” commented senior Todd Ganton. “Everyone did what they could and worked hard, and we look forward to a good week of practice and our match on Thursday.”

 GC men’s tennis will look to nab its first win of 2012 on Thursday, March 1 as the Panthers travel to Maryville and compete in an afternoon match scheduled for 3:00 pm.
