The GC women took on the 14-1 Webster Gorlocks on Friday and lost 0-9 to the reining SLIAC champions.
In singles play, the Panthers could not overtake the Gorlocks. Chelsie Evans played an awesome match, winning her first set 6-3. She then lost 2-6 to her No. 6 spot Webster opponent to bring the match into a tie breaking set. Evans fought hard but unfortunately could not pull out the win and lost the tie-breaker 2-10.
The doubles duo of Harling and Maurer came close and sent the match into a tie-breaker. The final score of their No. 1 spot match was 8-9 (3-7).
With this tough loss, the women's SLIAC record is 3-3. They take the courts again on Tuesday for an Exhibition match against Rend Lake.
