Maggie McMurtrey Earns Repeat Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Maggie McMurtrey, a junior from Morton, Ill., has been named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week for April 1-7. This is the second time this season she has been Player of the Week, making her the first Spring 2013 athlete repeat the honor for Greenville.

McMurtrey competed in the hammer throw, shot put and discus at the Washington University Select Meet and placed first, fifth and sixth respectively. She had her best performance in the hammer throw when she posted a throw of 50.32 meters. This throw ranks her ninth in NCAA DIII. She had impressive throws in both shot put and discus as well, recording 10.46 meters in the shot put and 34.02 meters in the discus.
