Additionally, Greenville University offers the methods coursework that leads to Middle Grades (grades 5-8) endorsements in Social Science, Mathematics, and Science. For those currently holding an Illinois PEL, you can expand your career options and increase your earning potential by adding a Middle Grades endorsement. The Middle Grades Endorsement requires a content-specific methods course within the 18-hour coursework requirement and the passing of the appropriate content area test.

Middle Grades Language Arts Endorsement Course Requirements
What are the requirements to earn a Middle Grades Language Arts Endorsement?
Teachers must (1) complete 18 semester hours of coursework in the content area, including a methods course, and (2) pass the Language Arts (201) exam.
Note: Some of your prior coursework may count toward the 18 semester hours required for the endorsement. Our Educator Services team will work with you to determine which courses to take to fulfill your requirements.
