About Courtney Bailey Parker

"Dr. Courtney Bailey Parker earned her PhD in English Renaissance Literature from Baylor University in 2016, with a research specialty in the plays of William Shakespeare and performance studies. Her academic writing has appeared in Mississippi Quarterly, Literature and Belief, Cahiers Elisabethains, ANQ, Praxis, and elsewhere. As an actor, she has worked in Austin, Texas and in the Metro Atlanta area; she currently works professionally as an actor in the St. Louis area.

Within the CVCMS, Dr. Bailey Parker teaches courses in theatre history, Shakespeare, British literature, writing, and dramatic literature.  Her current research interests are gender and performance in early modern drama and the rhetoric of contemporary actor training.  For the 2017-18 academic year, Dr. Bailey Parker was the recipient of the Archer Award for Distinguished Faculty Scholarship at Greenville University."
