ADJUSTED COMMENCEMENT WEEKEND SCHEDULE

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 3 pm Friday, May 12th to move the Class Photo and Ivy Cutting ceremony indoors to H.J. Long Gymnasium.

5 - 5:30 pm GU Choir Concert

• Whitlock Music Center

6 pm Class of 2023 Photo

• Rain location: H.J. Long Gymnasium

6:15 pm Line-up for Ivy Cutting

• Rain location: H.J. Long Gymnasium

6:30 pm Ivy Cutting Ceremony 

• Rain location: Crum Rec. Center
• This is a silent ceremony for traditional students that symbolizes the end of their university life together. Graduating students, please wear your cap and gown.

7:15 pm Line-up for Baccalaureate

• Rain location: Whitlock Basement

7:30 pm Baccalaureate 

• Rain location: Whitlock Music Center - Recital Hall
  
• Baccalaureate is a farewell address in the form of a sermon delivered to the graduating class. All graduating undergraduate and graduate students and their families are welcome.

8:30 pm  Graduate Dessert Reception

• Dining Commons
• This event is open to all.

ADJUSTED COMMENCEMENT WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Saturday, May 13, 2023

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 7 am Saturday, May 13th to move the ceremony indoors to H.J. Long Gymnasium. The commencement ceremony will be split into two sessions. Notifications will be made through GU alerts and the GU website. 

If families are required to wait for the second ceremony, the dining commons in the Armington Center. Refreshments will be available and the ceremonies will be livestreamed.

8:30 am - Open seating begins 

• Rain location: Seating and commencement locations are in the H.J. Long Gymnasium with no seating restrictions or guest limits. 

9:00 am - Student Line-up - South Sidewalk

• Rain location: Crum Rec Center

10 am - Commencement Ceremony - School of Art & Sciences and School of Professional Studies 

• Rain Location: H.J. Long Gymnasium 
• The master's degree recipients will attend the ceremony that corresponds to their respective schools.

12:30 PM - OPEN SEATING BEGINS 

• Rain location: Seating and commencement locations are in the H.J. Long Gymnasium with no seating restrictions or guest limits. 

1:00 PM - STUDENT LINE-UP - SOUTH SIDEWALK

• Rain location: Crum Rec Center

2:00 PM - COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

• The master's degree recipients will attend the ceremony that corresponds to their respective schools.
