7 PM SENIOR MUGGING

Friday, May 10, 2024

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 3 pm Friday, May 10th to move the Class Photo and Ivy Cutting ceremony indoors.

5 pm GU Choir Concert

• Wilson Recital Hall - Whitlock Music Center

6 pm Class of 2024 Photo

• Rain location: TBD

6:30 pm Ivy Cutting Ceremony 

• H.J. Long Gymnasium
  This is a silent ceremony for traditional students that symbolizes the end of their university life together. It will immediately follow the class photo. Graduating students, please wear your cap and gown.

7:00 pm Baccalaureate Ceremony

• Wilson Recital Hall - Whitlock Music Center
  Baccalaureate is a farewell address in the form of a sermon delivered to the graduating class. All graduating undergraduate and graduate students and their families are welcome.

8:30 pm  Graduate Dessert Reception

• Luzader Chapel - Whitlock Music Center
  This event is open to faculty, graduates, and their families.

ADJUSTED COMMENCEMENT WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Saturday, May 11, 2024

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 7 am Saturday, May 11th to move the ceremony indoors to H.J. Long Gymnasium. The commencement ceremony will be split into two sessions. Notifications will be made through GU alerts and the GU website. 

If families are required to wait for the second ceremony, the dining commons in the Armington Center will be open and available. Refreshments will be available, and the ceremonies will be livestreamed. 

Details for Ceremony I 

7:30 am - Open seating begins 

• Rain location: Seating and commencement locations are in the H.J. Long Gymnasium with no seating restrictions or guest limits. 

8:00 am - Student Line-up - South Sidewalk

• Rain location: Crum Rec Center

9:00 am - Commencement Ceremony 

• Rain Location: H.J. Long Gymnasium 
• The master's degree recipients will attend the ceremony corresponding to their respective schools.

11:30 PM - OPEN SEATING BEGINS 

• Rain location: Seating and commencement locations are in the H.J. Long Gymnasium with no seating restrictions or guest limits. 

12:00 PM - STUDENT LINE-UP - SOUTH SIDEWALK

• Rain location: Crum Rec Center

1:00 PM - COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

• The master's degree recipients will attend the ceremony that corresponds to their respective schools.
