Sport Management at Greenville University

Sport Management is a growing industry across all disciplines including coaching, athletic administration, collegiate and professional sports, amateur and private club organizations, and much more. The GU program is led by instructors that have practical experience and combine that with academic knowledge to shape and prepare students for careers in sport.

Internships

GU Sport Management majors gain real-world experience through internships that open doors to careers in the sports industry. Leveraging our extensive network of alumni and industry partners, students have interned with organizations including FIFA during the World Cup, the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues, the YMCA, professional soccer clubs, summer camps, and more. Internships earn 3–6 credit hours, with one credit awarded for every 40 hours worked.

Outstanding Sport Management students have the opportunity to be recognized for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. The John Strahl Award honors exceptional academic achievement in sport and kinesiology, while the Tidball Award recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in academics, spiritual growth, and involvement within the Sport Management program and campus community.
