Leadership Scholarships
These leadership scholarships range from $10,000 - $20,500 – that’s up to 70% percent of tuition! And these scholarships invest in you! There’s something for everyone and they help you build your resume, form community within your scholarship group and grow you as a leader.
About Merit Based Scholarships
- Merit Scholarships cannot be stacked or combined with other GU merit-based financial aid offerings.
- You can accept or reject a scholarship for a larger scholarship like any of the leadership scholarships such as Panther Scholar, MOSAIC, Women in Leadership, McAllastar Honors, and Champion Scholar.
- You must apply and be accepted through the regular admissions process, be a degree-seeking student and be enrolled full-time with minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

Boyer Scholarship

Confirm eligibility with the Admissions Office. Requirements: after receiving this award, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Renewable annually and must maintain residency on campus.
Engineering Honors Scholarship

For: First-time Engineering Majors
To be eligible for this scholarship, first-time freshman must meet the admission requirement for entrance into the Engineering program.
Requirements: ACT score of 29 or higher (SAT equivalent) and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Renewable annually, remain in Engineering program, and must maintain residency on campus.
McAllaster Honors Scholarship

This scholarship program nurtures excellent students who are especially gifted to serve God and their neighbor through the work of Christian learning and research. Requirements: 3.5 GPA and must maintain residency in campus housing. Renewable annually.

Mosaic Diversity Scholarship

This program is for leaders who display exemplary academics and an eagerness to promote a diverse and inclusive culture on Greenville University’s campus.

Panther Scholar

For: Incoming freshmen and transfers
This scholarship is for students who seek to display the ideals of character and service. Students who are accepted into this scholarship will also be required to participate in character and service events and programming on GU's campus.
Requirements: must maintain residency on campus, remain in good academic and disciplinary standing per student handbook, participate successfully in the Intro to Experience First and Experience First Capstone courses, and fulfill service and campus experience requirements. Renewable annually.

Greenville University has a rich heritage of empowering women for leadership. Sponsored by President Suzanne Davis, this scholarship is for incoming female students who have had experience in leadership within their schools, communities, and churches, and desire to further their leadership development and experience at Greenville University. Greenville University will support the recipients with character-building and service-leadership programming, and awardees will meet on a regular basis for mentorship with President Suzanne Davis. Renewable annually.

Champion Scholarship

Greenville University recognizes that there are students deserving of recognition based on what they have been able to overcome in their lives. Robert “Ish” Smith was a former coach and president of Greenville University. He challenged students to be their best and knew they had it in them, sometimes before they knew it themselves. We want to recognize champions, just like “Ish” did.

Phi Theta Kapa

This scholarship requires participation in Phi Theta Kapa. Requirements: proof of participation in PTK for a minimum of one semester. Award amount varies from $15,000 for off-campus students and $18,000 for on-campus students. Renewable annually.
Free Methodist Affiliated Student

This scholarship is for students who are currently affiliated with a Free Methodist church as attested by their pastor. Students should have completed FM Church preparatory membership class or equivalent. Requirements: We request confirmation from your Free Methodist pastor. Award varies from $15,500 for off-campus students and $17,500 for on-campus students. Renewable annually.

Students who do not qualify for a Greenville University Merit Scholarship can qualify for the Recognition award. Requirement: cumulative GPA and ACT scores in the following ranges: 3.0 GPA and 19 ACT or 2.5 GPA and 24 ACT. Renewable annually.
Greenville University Legacy Scholarship

For: For freshmen and transfers. Requirements: Must be a child or grandchild of a GU alum. Discuss your eligibility for this scholarship with your admissions counselor. $19,000 for on-campus students or $17,000 for off-campus students. The Legacy Scholarship cannot be combined with a Merit Scholarship.

Bass Fishing Award

The Bass Fishing team expects fishermen to abide by the GU Bass Fishing Constitution, Guidelines & GU Student Handbook. Students must be enrolled full-time to be considered for continuation of the award. Funding is limited, inquire early. Spirit Scholarship

The GU Spirit Scholarship is a non-NCAA scholarship offered to accepted cheerleading and/or dance athletes in the Greenville University Spirit Program at the Spirit Program Coordinator’s discretion. Marching and Pep Band Award

The Marching and Pep Band Award is available to students who participate for credit in Marching Band during the Fall Semester and Pep Band during the Spring Semester. Scholarship selection is based on in-person or videotaped auditions. Renewed annually at the discretion of the band director. Award has limited funding, inquire early. Music Ensemble Award

The Music Ensemble Award is for non-music and music majors who enroll each semester in GU Choir, Fusion, Pursuit, and/or Concert/Marching band. Award selection is based on an in-person or videotaped audition. Renewed annually.

The Esports scholarship is a non-NCAA award offered to students for both Esports competitions and streaming. The Esports program expects gamers to abide by the GU Gaming Constitution, Guidelines, and GU Student Handbook. Requirement: students must be enrolled as full-time. Renewed at the discretion of the Esports Coordinator. Award has limited funding, inquire early. Church Partnership Scholarship Program

Scholarship funds received from the church will be applied to the student’s fall semester charges, and the university will apply the matching award against the student’s spring semester charges. Checks must be received prior to September 1. Matching funds for applications received after March 1 will depend on fund availability and the award amounts may be reduced or unavailable. Camp Match Scholarship Program

GU will match up to $1000 of the wages a student earns from working at a Christian Camp. The camp must make a check or money order payable to Greenville University with the student’s name noted on the memo line. Scholarship funds received from the camp will be applied to the student’s fall semester charges, and the university will apply the matching award against the student’s spring semester charges.
