Baseball Finishes Spring Break Trip with Loss to Anderson

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The baseball team closed their seven game Florida trip with a 6-2 loss to Anderson on Saturday.
Visiting Anderson struck Greenville for one run in the second inning and two in the third to take a 3-0 lead.
The Panthers cut the deficit to one in the third inning. Kenny Trager singled to center field with runners on second and third, and Jared Souhrada hit into a fielder's choice back to the pitcher to score the other run.
Anderson put three runs on the scoreboard in the sixth inning to give them a 6-2 lead.
Jared Massengill and Kenny Trager were Greenville's top offensive producers. Massengill went 2-for-3 with one run scored and two doubles. Trager was 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Derek Reckmann was Greenville's starting pitcher, tossing 5.2 innings and giving up four earned runs and two unearned runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out one in picking up the losing decision.
Cody Hinterscher threw 2.2 innings, only allowing one hit. Scotty Voyles closed the game with a perfect two-thirds of an inning.
The Panthers (2-10) resume their season with a weekend trip to Westminster for their first conference games of the season on Friday and Saturday.
