GC Women's Tennis Beat Blackburn on Home Courts

The Panthers took on the Blackburn Beavers Saturday evening and redeemed themselves from the early morning loss to Lewis and Clark. The ladies came out with a 6-3 victory with stand-out performances by many key players.

GC won No. 1, 3, and 5 spots in singles play. Jamie Harling got an impressive win with a score of 6-3, 6-1. Kristin Minshall played to perfection and won her match 6-0, 6-0. Jenna Reints also gained a victory for the Panthers in a tough 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 battle.

Doubles play proved even more successful for Greenville. All three Panther pairs won, bringing the match to a final score of 6-3. Harling and partner Katie Maurer got the win with a score of 9-8 (7-5). The Minshall sisters came out on top as well winning a remarkable 8-1 victory. Kat Kennedy and Reints played well, outplaying their opposition in an 8-2 match.

This noteable win brings the women to a 2-5 record. They will look to get a SLIAC win next Monday as they take on Westminister on the road.
