#GivingTuesdayGU: Kayla Morton ’19, Digital Media

If Kayla made a movie of her college journey, G.U. donors would be the heroes.

The Lead Character: Kayla Morton, technology lover and storyteller extraordinaire.

The Quest: Kayla wanted a career in digital storytelling, possibly in television, movies or advertising. That required broad digital know-how. After shopping around for colleges, only G.U.’s digital media program fit the bill.

The Conflict: Money woes! They threatened to block Kayla’s path to her dream program.

Enter: the Heroes—G.U. donors.

G.U. Financial Champions slayed the money problem with donor-supported scholarships like the Campus Visit Award, the Wilson T. Hogue Award, the President’s Scholarship, the Brenneman Memorial Scholarship and the Greenville University Award.

“I am incredibly thankful for student scholarships because Greenville would not be an option for me without [them],” Kayla says.

Happy Ending: Kayla entered the digital media program and benefitted from excellent technical instruction, hands-on learning and personal attention from professors. This well-rounded education stoked her confidence to enter the digital storytelling field. “I am very open and excited to see what the future holds,” Kayla says.

You write a happy ending for students like Kayla when you contribute to #GivingTuesdayGU. Thank you!
