Greenville University honored by Greenville Chamber of Commerce

President Suzanne Davis, holding award, and several representatives of Greenville University attended last Saturday's annual awards banquet of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce. The University was given the Innovation Award.

Several area businesses and individuals were honored by the Greenville Chamber of Commerce at the organization’s second annual awards gala Saturday at Copper Dock Winery in Pocahontas.

During the awards presentation, Greenville University received the Innovation Award for partnering with the city on the SMART Center, building the new gymnastics center, working with St. John’s College of Nursing and HSHS Holy Family Hospital to create a nursing program, and committing to build a residence hall and equestrian facility. The University also was recognized for out-of-the-box thinking and providing creative solutions.

Other awards presented at the event were:

  • The Sustainability Award to Enertech Global
  • The Beautification Award to Thacker Insurance
  • The Modern Marketing Award to Bond County Realtors
  • The Community Service Award to the Bond County Recovery Council
  • The Community Impact Award to FNB Community Bank
  • The Rising Star Award to Mallory O’Dell, owner of the Collective Closet 

Outgoing GCC president Curt Thacker provided a wrap-up for 2022 and incoming president Kelly Sager cast her vision for 2023.
