Men's basketball comes up short against Dubuque

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The men's basketball team was the victim of a 50-for-70 shooting effort from Dubuque as the Panthers lost 132-121 in its second game of the weekend at Nebraska Wesleyan.

Shane Smith led Greenville's efforts with 16 points and four steals, despite fouling out of the game.

Michael Hohm posted 15 points for Greenville.

A trio of Panthers tallied 14 points -- Andrew Scott, Tim Daniel, and Jamal Daniels.

Richard Clemens added a game-high nine assists, and Scott had six rebounds.

Greenville led 51-48 at halftime and held a 13 point lead with 14 minutes remaining in the game.

The Panthers shot at a 44.6 percent clip by making 41-of-92 attempts. Greenville forced 28 Dubuque turnovers and collected 18 steals.

DeAndre Brown was selected for the all-tournament team after posting a statistical line of 30 points, six rebounds, two assists, six steals, and one blocked shot in the two games.

The Panthers (1-5) face Webster in its SLIAC opener Wednesday at 8 p.m.
