Women's Soccer Finishes 2OT with Draw to Fontbonne on Senior Night

GREENVILLE, Ill.--The Lady Panthers battled for 120 minutes in their Senior Night game and came away with a 1-1 tie with Fontbonne University.
Mo Murphy scored Greenville's only goal in the 21st minute of the game. Jen Williams was credited with the assist. The goal brought GC up 1-0 heading into halftime. In the 48th minute, Fontbonne's Kayla Thorpe equalized with a goal for the away team. Despite two ten minute overtime periods, the score remained 1-1 after 120 minutes.
Senior goalkeeper, Heidi Koehl, made 7 saves for Greenville.
Eight seniors were recognized before the game's kickoff; Jeana Brandmeyer, Claire Conwell-Vargas, Heidi Koehl, Mo Murphy, Kelsey Panzau, Haley Thatcher, Jen Williams, and Emily Wright. Each of these ladies have been a major part of the GC soccer program and they will be missed!
The tie brings the Lady Panthers' record to 7-9-1 (6-1-1 SLIAC). The team currently sits in second place in the SLIAC. Greenville will play again on Saturday, November 2 when they travel to Principia College in their last regular season match of the year.
