Robyn Florian D.mi

From the moment I first stepped onto Greenville’s campus as a high school sophomore in the spring of 1982, I knew I was home. My years as a student (1984–88) and later as a staff member in College Relations and Marketing (1997–2009) deepened my love for Greenville, for Christian higher education, and for the transformative journey of our graduates.

For the last 15 years, God has led me through a long and winding journey across four states—Michigan (Spring Arbor University), Virginia (Operation Blessing Disaster Relief), Texas (Northwest Bible Church), and Kentucky (Asbury Seminary and Asbury University). These experiences shaped my doctoral research on hope, brokenness, and trauma-informed spiritual formation.

Although grateful for each of these “pleasant inns” (C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain), I am glad to be home in Greenville, where I hope to contribute to the ongoing work of Christian higher education—nurturing spiritual, emotional, and physical flourishing among students, faculty, staff, and alumni worldwide. My career has focused on writing, teaching, training, and consulting, with particular interests in encouraging Gen Z through learning, equipping Gen Y through healing and training, and enlivening Gen X through mentoring.

I bring more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning, public relations, digital communications, storytelling, event production, programming, issues management, brand management, crisis communication, photography, video production, volunteer coordination, and fundraising. My work has spanned leadership development, camping and retreat ministries, mental health, military communities, prison and reentry care, disaster relief, homelessness, and strengths-based recovery.

Favorite Scripture:
“Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!” – Romans 15:13, The Message
