Job Description

Jr. High/Middle School History and Spanish Teacher

Downers Grove Christian School is looking for a full-time Jr. High/Middle School teacher to join our faculty. We are especially interested in a candidate who can teach History for part of the day and Spanish for part of the day.

Qualified applicants should be college graduates and should either hold a teaching credential or be actively working toward one. As DGCS is a Christian school, candidates should be comfortable working in a faith-based school environment and supporting the mission of the school.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (required)
• Valid Illinois teaching license, ACSI certification (or ability to obtain)
• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education
• Full agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission
• Strong classroom management and organizational skill.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and administration
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience at the junior high level
• Subject area expertise
• Experience in a Christian school setting
