Welcome new Panthers! This is the weekend you will start your adventure at GU! New Student Orientation (NSO) is full of activity. We call ours "Welcome Weekend".
This is our chance to welcome you to campus. This is your chance to get to know your roommate, your resident assistant, your orientation group, and your entire incoming class. We are here to make you feel welcome and comfortable and we are all going to have a lot of fun doing it!

Residential Student Check-in @ Whitlock Parking Lot (G). Enter from Main Street; Exit onto Spruce Street
Lunch & Resource Fair
- Lunch at the Dining Commons. Resource Fair on Scott Field
Math Placement Testing: Students who need to take the math placement test will be notified during check-in
Commuter Student Check-in @ Joy House Lot. Park at Whitlock (G) Lot Across the Street
PARENTS LAST EXTENDED TIME WITH THEIR STUDENT.
- Please note that after 3:00 PM, parents will be unable to spend extended time with their students as students will be transitioning into their home groups; however, there will be a brief opportunity for a hug goodbye following the New Student Ceremony/Class Photo

- Students line up outside Whitlock Hall to process through Hogue Tower to Claussen Circle for the ceremony.
- Class photo follows directly after ceremony on the steps of Ruby E. Dare Library
- Parents' Mixer follows class photo: A time for new GU parents to connect with GU administration, faculty, and other parents. Whitlock Hall, Luzader Chapel.
