SETTING A PLACE FOR YOU & HOMECOMING 2026 AFFINITY REUNIONS
A View of GU – OCTOBER 2026
BY ROBYN (JAENKE) FLORIAN '88
“Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other.” – Romans 12:10
In the September issue of “A View of GU,” we reflected on the God’s work of renewal for, in, among and through our flourishing GU Family of God.
“My hope in God’s renewing work in our lives this year, individually and corporately, rests not necessarily in God doing a “new” thing (Isaiah 43:19) but a “re-newed” thing (Ephesians 4:23) as God continues to shape student and alumni lives for over 130 years with our transforming education for character and service.”
In the context of the classroom > calling > career > contributions lifecycle, we continually invite our Greenville students and alumni to show up for God, for each other and in the world for meaningful purposes. In doing so, you extend the “genuine affection” of this ivy-linked community to every place our “paths may sever and we distant roam” as we continue to encourage, equip and enliven this flourishing network from our home base in Greenville.
Metaphorically speaking, I often think of this work as “Setting the Table,” a standout amongst the many post-it notes surrounding my desk in this work of alumni and church relations. On campus, in person and online, this event production girl loves to foster affectional ties (with God and others), facilitate affinity connections and further alumni engagement amongst our family, from students and alums to families and friends.
“Remember that We are Ivy” 🧡🐾🌿 At Homecoming & Family Weekend 2026, we look forward to setting the table for the 50-, 40-, 25- and 10-year reunion classes of 1976, 1986, 2001 and 2016, as well as hosting affinity reunions for Rapport, Almira Scholars and the annual Science Summer Research Student Presentations. It’s not too late to accept the invitation! REGISTER today at greenville.edu/homecoming.
2026 HOMECOMING AFFINITY REUNIONS
At Greenville University, some of our most enduring relationships take root in the experiences we share. Whether through cultural connections, leadership opportunities or academic discovery, these experiences become part of our ivy-linked stories—and the larger story of GU. This Homecoming, we're setting tables for three special affinity gatherings, inviting alumni, students, faculty, and friends to reconnect, renew and revive relationships that continue to grow across generations.
Rapport Reunion | Celebrating Cultures and Connections
Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Greenville College student group Rapport created opportunities for international and American students to build friendships, share cultures, and discover a deeper sense of belonging. This special reunion invites former Rapport participants and friends to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the lasting influence of relationships that reached across cultures and continents.
Almira Scholars | Celebrating Women in Leadership
Inspired by Greenville's legacy of educating, equipping and empowering women, Almira Scholars discover their gifts, develop their voices, and grow as leaders of character and service. This Homecoming gathering brings Almira Scholars together with the growing Almira Circle of GU alumni, staff and friends to celebrate the wisdom of generations, the power of mentorship, and the promise of women investing in one another's lives.
Summer Science Research Reunion | Celebrating Discovery and Mentorship
For students who participated in Greenville's summer science research experiences, the laboratory became more than a place of discovery—it became a place of mentorship, collaboration, and vocational exploration. This special gathering, featuring student research presentations, invites former participants, faculty mentors, current students, and friends to celebrate scientific inquiry, share stories of discovery, and recognize the lasting impact of how learning lives in doing.
We invite you to join us Saturday, October 17, from 9:30–11 a.m. as we celebrate these reunion groups. A free grab-and-go breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. on Hogue Lawn.

Until we meet again … keep praying. Keep watching. And keep thanking God with us for the good work He continues to do on campus in the lives of GU students, faculty and staff and in you, our GU alumni and friends. 🧡🐾🌿
