GU Relaunches Alumni Travel with the Tidballs

Todd '85 and Sue (Howe '85) Tidball, in partnership with GU's Office of Alumni Relations, will step into the shoes of their parents, Watson ’49 and Bonnie (Barber ’48) Tidball, by revisiting international travel intended to gather GU alumni and friends throughout the world. 🧳

The first trip for this next generation of travel will find the Tidballs—and those of us who will join them—stepping into some even bigger shoes … the footsteps of Paul’s missionary journey through Greece 🇬🇷 via a unique eleven-day land and sea excursion, May 26–June 5, 2026, through ATHENS, CORINTH, MYKONOS, EPHESUS, PATMOS, CRETE, SANTORINI, DELPHI, KALAMBAKA and THESSALONIKI! The trip also features a three-day cruise to the Greek Isles and Turkey 🇹🇷.

Starting in the 1960’s, Watson & Bonnie Tidball led international tours to exciting destinations around the world. Russia, The Holy Land, China, Europe, New Zealand and Corinth were popular destinations for countless students, alumni and friends of Greenville College (now University).

Like most of this siblings, Todd Tidball (Watson and Bonnie’s sixth child) caught the “travel bug.” He and his wife, Sue, have traveled the world visiting the countries listed above plus many more. Their extensive travel, along with the Tidball legacy, makes them uniquely qualified to lead the relaunch of Greenville University Alumni & Friends Tours. They have “been there, done that,” and these experiences have equipped Todd & Sue to create and facilitate wonderful travel memories as they restart a program that once served as a core part of the Greenville University alumni culture.
