GREENVILLE, Ill. — Greenville University invites alumni and friends to experience the beauty, history, and spiritual significance of Italy during a 12-day "Highlights of Italy" tour in spring 2027.
Hosted by Greenville University alumni Todd ’85 and Sue (Howe ’85) Tidball, the tour will take place March 15–26, 2027, and will visit some of Italy's most iconic destinations, including Venice, Florence, the Sorrento area, and Rome.
Building on the success of a recent alumni tour that followed the footsteps of the Apostle Paul in Greece, the Italy experience continues Greenville University's commitment to creating meaningful travel opportunities that foster connection, deepen faith, and strengthen the alumni community.
As the Tidballs share in the tour materials, travelers are invited to "abide by the memories" of Greenville University while discovering Italy together.
The itinerary combines guided sightseeing with opportunities for reflection, fellowship, and shared experiences. Highlights include walking tours through Venice's historic canals and St. Mark's Square, visits to Florence's renowned artistic and architectural treasures, scenic travel along the Amalfi Coast, and time in Rome exploring Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel, and the Colosseum.
Each destination offers more than memorable landmarks. Together, travelers will experience Italy's rich history, culture, and faith while strengthening friendships and creating new memories with fellow members of the GU community.
The tour includes round-trip airfare from Chicago, accommodations in first-class hotels, most meals, the guidance of a professional English-speaking tour director, comprehensive sightseeing, and all entrance fees. The total cost is $4,699 per person from Chicago, including government taxes and airline surcharges.
At its heart, the GU Alumni Travel program reflects the university's commitment to building community beyond campus. Whether reconnecting with classmates, making new friendships, or exploring places of historical and spiritual significance, participants are invited to continue their Greenville story together.
