After completing her degrees, Bell was hired as the head volleyball coach and assistant sports promotions director at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. She coached the Division I Cavaliers and handled many sport marketing responsibilities until she stepped away to raise her four children. In 2001, she returned to coaching and teaching. At Kaskaskia College, she taught marketing and management courses. She also coached girls volleyball and boys track at Vandalia High School and Vandalia Junior High for 11 years. In 2008, Bell joined the GC community as an adjunct professor in the Business Department and was hired as a full-time faculty member in 2014. She is very excited about the focus within the Briner School of Business to teach students how to be "Bob Briner Roaring Lambs" – to take the love of Christ into the world through their work in any industry. Bell, and all the Briner School of Business faculty, continue to find new ways to blend experiential, hands-on projects and classroom learning to provide students a broad array of opportunities to build their knowledge and talents. Mentoring "Experience First" capstone teams has allowed Bell to guide students in almost-real-world work situations. She is also thrilled to teach sport management courses, as well as business courses, which combines her love of sports and business. Professor Bell is the Faculty Athletic Representative and the recipient of the W. Richard Stevens Outstanding Faculty Award for 2021.
