BIO BRIEF
Outside of scholarly and professional activities, I enjoy spending time outdoors. In my free time, I can be found running or weight training and spending time with my husband, Johnny, our son, Giovanni, and our four-legged friend, Cecil.
EDUCATION
My background includes various roles held across Higher Education, Parks and Recreation, Campus Recreation, Physical Therapy, and Chiropractic care. I earned my Doctor of Education in Kinesiology through the University of North Carolina Greensboro and received my Master of Science in Kinesiology (Exercise and Sport Psychology concentration) and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Additionally, I am a NETA certified Group Fitness Instructor, YogaFit certified Yoga Instructor, and ACE certified Personal Trainer. As a teacher, I believe it is my duty to foster an environment where students can explore the ideas and skills relevant to their personal and professional development. I place a high priority on promoting the value of service, as I believe students will one day become stewards of their work within their own communities.
