Hello! I’m Lauren Leitschuh, and I’ve been part of the Greenville University community since March 2023. Before moving into higher education, I spent three years teaching first, second, and third grade. I’ve always known I wanted to work closely with students, and even though my path has shifted, that passion has stayed at the center of everything I do.
Transitioning from K–12 to higher education has been a meaningful and natural next step for me. Many of the skills I developed as an elementary teacher—relationship-building, communication, differentiated support, and meeting students where they are—translate seamlessly into academic advising. One of my favorite parts of this role is getting to know students, understanding their goals, and helping them navigate both challenges and successes.
In my work as an advisor, I draw heavily from my background in education. I specialize in helping students identify barriers, set realistic goals, and create strategies for academic success. I incorporate reflective conversations to better understand each student’s needs and continually work to improve the advising experience. I strive to create a supportive, welcoming environment where students feel heard, encouraged, and empowered to take ownership of their academic journey.
I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education from Saint Louis University in 2020 and am currently completing my M.A.E. in Curriculum and Instruction at Greenville University, expected in December 2026.
I truly enjoy walking alongside college students—seeing them grow, gain confidence, and make decisions that shape their futures is why I went into education in the first place.
