Hi, I’m Maddie LaCoe, and I serve as the Associate Head Coach for Women’s Gymnastics at Greenville University. I joined the GU community in 2025 and am excited to invest in student-athletes both on and off the mat.
I earned my B.S. in Coaching and Performance Science from West Virginia University, where I studied the technical and human elements of athletic performance, including sports psychology and biomechanics. During my time at WVU, I also gained hands-on experience learning within the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning facility, which shaped my approach to training and athlete development.
As a former elite gymnast, I bring firsthand experience to my coaching philosophy. I have spent over five years coaching upper-level club gymnastics, including Levels 8–10, and developed a coaching approach centered on helping athletes reach their full potential while pursuing their individual and team goals. I am passionate about guiding athletes toward excellence through discipline, confidence, and a strong foundation of trust.
A quote that continues to inspire my work is, “Passion first and everything will fall into place,” — Holly Holm.
