Micah Forshee, PhD

BIO BRIEF

Having been so deeply influenced by his professors, Micah has a heart for undergraduate education where he can come alongside students while they investigate God's world through biology and feel the love of Jesus at Greenville. Outside the classroom and the lab, Micah loves to visit parks with his family and enjoy the culture and food of St. Louis.

EDUCATION

Dr. Micah Forshee joined the faculty at Greenville University in the fall of 2024. He is an Assistant Professor of Biology and Nursing with a teaching focus in Microbiology and Cellular Biology. His research both at Olivet Nazarene University (B.S.) and Baylor College of Medicine (PhD) has centered around better understanding how the beneficial microbes that live within our gut improve our health and how diet can impact those microbes. Micah's research interests continue to focus on the relationship between microbes and their hosts, as well as the microbiology of food.
