Are you passionate about music and looking for an exciting way to get involved on campus? Do you want to be part of a dynamic and spirited community that performs at major university events? Look no further! We are thrilled to invite you to our Marching Panther Regiment (MPR) Experience Day.
Event Details:
- Date: November 1st & 2nd
- Time: Nov. 1st 6 p.m.- Check in
- Location: Whitlock Building- Check in
- Who Can Attend: All high school students interested in participating in marching band in college. Students of every major are welcome!

What to Expect at the MPR Experience Day:
- Meet the Directors and Current Members: Get to know the leaders of our program and hear firsthand from current band members about their experiences.
- Rehearsal: Participate in Friday night rehearsal to prepare a short field show and get a taste of what it's like to be in the band.
- Community: Have dinner and hang out with current band members
- Check out the Dorms!: If you want to spend the night, we will have housing available in our dorms. It’s a great opportunity to get the full college experience. Students that do not wish to stay on campus should return Saturday (Nov. 2nd) at 8 a.m.
- Football Game: Perform with the Marching Panther Regiment at our November 2nd football game both in the stands and on the field
- Q&A Session: Have all your questions answered and find out how you can join this exciting group.
How to Prepare:
- Bring Your Instrument: And any equipment required for your instrument. If you cannot bring your instrument (sousaphones, drums, flags, etc.) please note in the comments that you need an instrument.
- Wear Comfortable Clothing: You'll be moving around, so dress comfortably and be ready to have some fun! If you are planning to stay on campus, pack a small travel bag. Bring Khaki shorts for Saturday.

6 p.m. Check in at Whitlock Music Building
6:20 p.m. Gathering in the recital hall, dinner, meet with sections, distributing music, shirts, and plan for rehearsal
7 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. rehearsal at field
Nov 2nd
8 a.m. Breakfast, Move percussion & equipment to field
9 a.m. Run through at practice field
11 a.m. Return to Whitlock- Devotional, grab uniforms
12 p.m. Move to field, Set tunnel
12:30 p.m. Pregame
Clock time: 9 min mark- be in place for tunnel
- 7 min mark- tunnel run through—Fight Song
- 5 min mark- Fight Song
- 2:45 min mark- Prayer & National Anthem
After Game: Photo, conclude around 3 p.m.
