I serve as professor of business and sport management in Greenville University’s Briner School of Business. I first joined the Greenville community as an adjunct professor in 2008 and became a full-time faculty member in 2014. I also serve as the university’s Faculty Athletic Representative and was honored to receive the W. Richard Stevens Outstanding Faculty Award in 2021.
After completing my degrees, I was hired as head volleyball coach and assistant sports promotions director at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, where I coached the Division I Cavaliers and managed various sport marketing initiatives. I later stepped away to raise my four children before returning to coaching and teaching in 2001. At Kaskaskia College, I taught marketing and management courses, and for 11 years, I coached girls’ volleyball and boys’ track at Vandalia High School and Vandalia Junior High.
At Greenville, I am passionate about helping students develop both character and professional excellence. Within the Briner School of Business, we emphasize experiential, hands-on projects that help students connect faith, service, and leadership in their future careers. Mentoring Experience First teams through UNIV 320 has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work, allowing me to guide students in almost-real-world settings that prepare them for life beyond graduation.

Favorite Scripture:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” – John 15:5–8 (NIV)
