Impactful Contributions
Dr. Cecilia Ulmer, Professor Emerita
Cecelia Ulmer came to Greenville College in 1972 at the tender age of 22 as a professor of communications. She served the institution for 40 years and spent countless hours directing several shows for the Factory Theatre. Her outstanding contribution led to her recognition in 2012, receiving the College's W. Richard Stephens Outstanding Faculty Award.
The Christian perspective was an important element of Professor Ulmer's approach to directing, a field that is commonly devoid of such voices. Her impactful work extended beyond the college as she collaborated with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, leaving her mark by directing and designing over sixty plays.
