Music is an important part of our community at GU, and students from all majors can find ways to perform. Join one of our bands or groups to get connected and build lasting relationships.

The Blackroom

Our on-campus music venue, The Blackroom, hosts and open mic night every Tuesday. Students perform, run sound, and organize events for The Blackroom year-round. Check out a Blackroom performance.

Make music, together.

Choir

The GU choir tours annually to national and international destinations. Students from various majors sing in our choir, and students boast of the bond between choir members.

Pursuit

Join a Pursuit worship band to perform on campus and locally. Spend a summer leading worship by auditioning for the summer traveling Pursuit band.

Lab Bands

Join the Lab Bands course to create your own band, perform original music or covers, and find opportunities to perform.

Bands

Traditional bands are available for musicians. Join an ensemble as a part of our jazz band, marching and pep band, and concert band.

The GU Gospel Choir

Sing music that you can experience! Students can earn music ensemble credit or audit the gospel choir every fall and spring semester. Gospel choir members learn music by ear, so music-reading skills are not required. All students are welcome, regardless of ethnicity, musical experience, or major. Auditions are held during new student orientation in August.
