GU has some really cool Panther Places designed with students in mind. A description of some of them are below.
Burritt Gym
Burritt Gym is located upstairs in the H.J. Long Gymnasium. Burritt Gym received all new equipment in 2021 and features a lookout window to view the entire gym court. It also features a rock climbing wall.
The Gullies
Hike, play disc golf, or follow the guided prayer trail in thirteen acres of wooded trails adjacent to campus.
The Jack Trager Athletics Performance and Training Center
GU opened its new University Hall for the fall semester 2024, with a first-floor, state-of-the-art 4,000-square-foot workout facility for its students and athletes.
Whitlock Music Studios
Let your creativity loose! Make music in recording studios and practice rooms in Whitlock Music Center. Step onstage at The Factory Theatre. Sketch and paint, snap that perfect photograph, throw pottery, or create a digital masterpiece in Maves Art Center.
HJ Long and Crum Recreation Center
H.J. Long Gymnasium, at the heart of campus, is home to Panther basketball and volleyball.
The Crum Recreation Center
Or “The Rec,” can be converted into tennis, basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts. Frequently, it’s the site for kickball, dodgeball, and soccer games.
The Blackroom
The Blackroom is a space created for live events on campus. It provides more of an intimate experience being that the room is a little small. The Blackroom has hosted shows for on and off-campus bands, as well as fun events like open mic nights. Blackroom Cafe has held events just about every Tuesday for many years, as well as other special events, and do not plan on stopping! The Blackroom has provided a safe space for students all around to show their talents, whether they sing, dance, have poetry, or rap. We love to see it all.
The Hub
The Hub is a one-stop shop for student experience. Students can find information and meet with staff from the offices of Community Life, Career Services, Student Success, Residence Life, Diversity and Inclusion, Student Programs/Activities, Student Leadership, and Experiential Education. The Hub is connected to the Experiential Learning Lab which is a great place for group meetings, a great place to hang out, and a great place to study.
The SMART Center
Collaborate on projects with classmates and community entrepreneurs at the SMART Center. Its three levels feature state-of-the-art office space, a restaurant, demonstration kitchen, and event venue.
Study Rooms
Study in a space that works best for you. GU’s library features study rooms customized to meet various needs. All include Apple TVs and keycard reservations.
Ayers Field Station
A beautiful education center, observatory, pond, and hiking trails invite scientific exploration and field experiences of all types. Learn More.
The Union
A restaurant in the lower union serves grab-and-go meals and grilled food options. Hang out in the upper union and play ping pong, shoot pool, or watch movies on a projector screen with friends.
