Job Description
Position Overview
The Director of Worship is responsible for overseeing all aspects of worship within the church. This includes
leading and participating in the worship band with an instrument (guitar or piano), choosing music for worship
services, arranging music and tracks, leading rehearsals, scheduling musicians, tech teams and worship hosts.
The Director will also be responsible for creating visual slides, overseeing the worship budget, and leading
creative teams. The Director will work closely with the Lead Pastor in the development of sermon series and
ideas, as well as other various administrative tasks.
Essential Functions
- Worship Leadership:
- Proficiently play guitar and/or piano in worship band
- Schedule musicians through church planning App
- Select music for worship services that align with sermon series/theme
- Lead all worship band rehearsals and pre-service sound checks
- Arrange all music and tracks for mid-week rehearsals and Sundays
- Oversee annual worship budget
- Recruit volunteer musicians through an audition process
- Develop worship leaders, instrumentalists and vocalists
- Organize 2 to 3 Modern Worship Nights per year Maintain and upkeep church instruments and related equipment
Worship Hosts and Tech Teams:
- Recruit, train, and schedule Worship Hosts and Tech Teams for both Modern and Traditional Sunday
- services
- Communicate weekly announcements and order of service with Worship Hosts
- Oversee all tech equipment (i.e., sound, lighting, livestreams, etc.) and work with appropriate vendors
- to maintain or upgrade as needed
- Provide or schedule tech support for funerals and weddings (additional compensation)

Qualifications Required
- Experience in worship leadership, music, theology and discipleship
- Ability to proficiently lead worship from an instrument (guitar or piano)
- Ability to manage audio, lighting, and media elements, including knowledge of ProPresenter and track
- programs (i.e., Loop Prime, MultiTracks, or Ableton)
- Creative and innovative mindset
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office: Word, Excel
- Leadership skills, professionalism and strong work ethic
- Ability to effectively recruit and train volunteers, musicians, and tech teams
- Regular and reliable on-site attendance
