Master of Arts in Education at Greenville University

Pursue advanced studies with a master of arts in education. Choose from four concentrations: Coaching, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, and Teaching English as a Second Language.

Coaching

Develop cutting-edge coaching techniques, maximize your athletes’ potential, and produce wins. Designed for working coaches, this program offers a convenient and collaborative learning experience focused on performance, philosophy, and leadership. Work with top faculty. Interact with other coaching professionals, and apply your coursework on the job. Learn how Christian values inform character development on and off the field.

This program is ideal for coaches who work with athletes in junior high school, high school, or college. Coaches employed by not-for-profit, church, or community sports organizations will also benefit.

Curriculum and Instruction

Expand your knowledge of teaching and learning in this all-online program that you complete at your own pace. Learn how to build opportunities for your students and improve learning. As part of your capstone project, design and implement an improvement effort in your school district or organization. Educators designed this program for educators. You do not need a teaching certificate to enroll.

Special Education

Help students with special needs achieve their full learning potential. Advance your knowledge and broaden your qualifications to work with these students. Named one of the “Best Online Master’s in Special Education” programs in 2017, this year-round program offers a fully online format that you can complete in as little as 18 months. Complete an additional clinical practicum and earn your Learning Behavior Specialist I Endorsement, valid for the grade range of a current Illinois teaching license.

Teaching English as a Second Language

Prepare to engage culturally and linguistically diverse persons. Discover your potential to impact students as you communicate across cultures in diverse contexts.

Greenville University's online ESL program prepares you to teach English to individuals for whom English is not their primary language. If you hold an Illinois teaching license, you will also complete 100 hours of field experience needed to meet Illinois State Board of Education requirements for ESL approval/endorsement. This program is not an initial licensure program.
