BUSN101 Business Management (3 Credits)
EQUS101 Horsemanship 1 (3 Credits)

This course covers basic horsemanship skills and knowledge of the horse with an emphasis on understanding the nature of the horse. This first course in horsemanship provides basic instruction on controlling and riding, as well as general care and management of horses. Course fee: $500

EQUS110 Introduction to Equine Studies (3 Credits)

An introduction to the horse and the equine industry. Topics include the history of the horse, breeds, and characteristics, herd dynamics, performance and reproduction, different disciplines, sporting events, recreational riding, and career opportunities in the equine industry.

ENTR130 Introduction to Entrepreneurship (3 Credits)

This introductory course examines business from an entrepreneurial perspective. It will provide students with an introduction to the potential and pitfalls of entrepreneurship and its impact on the economic development within a community. Throughout the course, students will examine the various methods for starting up, managing and financing a new business enterprise. This process will culminate in the development of a viable business plan. The overarching goal of this course is to familiarize the student with business terminology in order to introduce him or her to the business program at Greenville University. Meets the general education social science or business management requirement. Offered: Every semester.

LEAD201 Principles of Leadership (3 Credits)

Students will examine models of leadership, focusing on the importance of strategic thinking, managing change, and assessment of leadership behaviors and managerial style so as to develop a personal growth plan for improving leadership performance. Prerequisite: PSYC 101

EQUS202 Horsemanship 2 (3 Credits)

This course covers basic horsemanship skills and knowledge of the horse with an emphasis on the different disciplines and activities associated with horses. This second course in horsemanship provides basic instruction on controlling and riding, as well as general care and management of horses. Prerequisite: EQUS 101 Course Fee: $500

EQUS220 Equine Management (3 Credits)

This course covers various aspects of equine management including the day-to-day care of horses, maintenance, and design for a healthy and safe environment in relation to herd behavior and stable layout, tack and training equipment usage, and hands-on experience working at the GU Equine Center. Prerequisite: EQUS 110

EQUS301 Horsemanship 3 (3 Credits)

This course covers horsemanship skills and knowledge of training methods with a Natural Horsemanship approach. This third course in horsemanship provides basic instruction on developing a systematic method for training goals and employing training techniques to equine behavioral issues. Prerequisites: EQUS 101 and EQUS 202 Course Fee $500

EQUS401 Horsemanship 4 (3 Credits)

This course covers horsemanship skills and knowledge for riding instruction fundamentals. This fourth course in horsemanship provides basic instruction on riding instructor qualifications, teaching goals and methods, and avenues of business and service for riding instruction. Course Fee $500
