They liked your application. You got an interview. Now what?

Job interviews are important for making good first impressions. While you may have your resume at hand, employers want to actually see your skills in person. There are many great tips to keep in mind while associating with your possible future employer

The interview itself will be significant, so make sure to make a great first impression on any employer. Use the following tips:

  • Research the company
  • Do a mock interview with a friend
  • Ask questions that reveal the research you have done about the company
  • Be upbeat upon arrival and throughout the meeting
  • Have a paper copy of your resume with you
  • Choose wisely what you wear, how you shake your interview's hand, hold up your posture, and how you speak
  • Send a letter to the company saying "thank you" in no more than 48 hours after the interview

Some people argue that the interview is most important when you're trying to get accepted for a job somewhere. The first component in the process is the job application, which rules you out based on the company's general requirements for anyone. The interview is more important, however, because it's the time when employers get to see you in action.

Greenville University strives to prepare you for your future job through your current studies and extra events occurring. For instance, each semester there are mock interviews to help you practice. If you attend these, you will see people dressed professionally with resumes in hand practicing their interviewing skills.
