GREENVILLE, Ill. - The 2006 edition of the Greenville College women's soccer team has returned to campus to continue the strong tradition of Panther soccer. Six starters return from the 2005 team, while 14 first-year players are a welcome addition to the squad. Among Greenville's losses from the 2005 season are senior forward Amanda Trempert (Redlands, Calif., East Valley HS) and goalkeeper Jenn Coppernoll (Janesville, Wis., HS). Trempert graduates after being named a two-time NCCAA all-American and holds Greenville College records with most career goals (45) and goals in a season (19). Returning all-conference senior defender Victoria Sievert (St. Louis, Mo., Francis Howell North HS) will look to anchor the defense while junior midfielder Natalie Lappe (Greenville, Ill., HS) will also be a major contributor in the attack for the Panthers. The sophomore class of midfielder Tiffany Sanders (Greenville, Ill., HS), defender Keely Scott (Normal, Ill., University HS) and forward Janie Hayward (St. Louis, Mo., Brentwood HS) will also look to provide immediate support for the Panthers this season. Greenville brings in a solid recruiting class of 14 new freshmen from across the country that complements the squad's previous classes of talented newcomers. Midfielders Kathleen Scherer (St. Peters, Mo., St. Dominick HS), Carly Gremillion (St. Louis, Mo., Bishop DuBourg HS) and Stormy Hatt (Trenton, Ill., Wesclin HS) will immediately contribute for the Panthers while forward Kirsten Para (McHenry, Ill., HS) and defenders Kim Reddell (Camp Verde, Ariz., HS) and Liz Marsh (Trenton, Ill., Wesclin HS) help to round out a solid incoming freshmen class.
