2nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration
Published: April 13, 2021
On Monday, January 18 at 7:00 pm, GC students, faculty and staff, and members of the Greenville community gathered to honor the work and legacy of one of America's true heroes of freedom, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Office of Multicultural and Cross-Cultural Affairs organized a service that allowed the Greenville community to participate and meditate on our roles as individual people, as members of this community and as citizens of the United States of America. We emphasized a theme that was central to Dr. King's philosophy, which was that only by working together in redemptive relationships with one another will Americans, as well as the global community, be able to put aside differences and unite around common causes.
This evening event was made possible by the Greenville College Office of Multicultural and Cross-Cultural Affairs in collaboration with GC Intercultural Activities Board (IAB) and the GC African American Student Union (AASU).
In response to God's vision of a Christian community, the Office of Multicultural and Cross-Cultural Affairs seeks to bring about an appreciation of diversity and reconciliation by fostering communication, awareness, and cross-cultural education.
Stay tuned for other exciting activities presented by Greenville College's Office of Student Development .
