Allyson Mitchell chosen as SLIAC volleyball offensive player of the week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. --The SLIAC has named Allyson Mitchell as its volleyball offensive player of the week.

Mitchell, a sophomore from Gurnee, Ill., helped her team to three conference wins and a match against #1 ranked Washington-St. Louis.

Mitchell started the week with 11 kills in her match against her ranked foe.

She then led her team to three straight conference wins, starting with 20 kills in a 3-1 win over Spalding. She added five kills and three service aces in a sweep of Iowa Wesleyan and closed out the week with 10 kills and five aces in a win over MacMurray.

On the week Mitchell finished with 46 kills in 13 sets, averaging 3.54 per set while hitting .252 and recording 10 aces.
