GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Greenville College men's and women's volleyball programs have announced that assistant coach Ivan Estevez has been promoted to associate head coach for both programs.

Estevez is in his fourth season with the women's program. His track record shows his value to the team as the Panthers have won the conference championship every year Ivan has been associated with the team.

He trains the setters, and that has been one of Greenville's greatest strengths in recent years.

"Ivan and I played together, and we have an excellent working relationship," said head coach Tom Ackerman. "He and I are always on the same page, and his contributions to the team is crucial to our success.

Estevez will take on additional responsibilities, primarily with the mens team.

The men's volleyball program will open their first year in January 2016. The addition of the men's volleyball program has brought 15 new students to campus in its first year.

The men kick off their non-traditional season in November and will play their traditional season in the spring.
