GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team dropped both ends of a SLIAC doubleheader on Saturday in Greenville. The Panthers lost the first game 21-0 in seven innings before falling 11-6 in game two.
Game 1 Recap
The Panthers found themselves in a hole almost from the beginning in game one as Westminster scored four times in the second inning and three in the third to gain a 7-0 lead.
Ten runs in the sixth put the game out of reach, and they added four in the seventh.
Mike Hardin, Nate Miller, Shane Olmsted, Austin Marsh, Travis Ralls, and Jesse Getz each had one hit.
Ryan Strohm picked up the loss as he permitted 10 runs on 15 hits in five innings.
Game 2 Recap
Greenville allowed four first inning runs and two in the third as Westminster led 6-0 early in game two.
Greenville got one run in the third when Trevor Montgomery homered.
Greenville's bats exploded for five runs in the fourth. Danny Strohm had an RBI single, and three runs scored on errors.
Olmsted's sacrifice fly tightened the score to 8-6.
Westminster was not done as they got a single run in the fifth, and added a steal of home and sacrifice fly in their final inning.
Jonah Moore was the losing pitcher for Greenville. He allowed six runs, three earned, in 2.2 innings. He allowed six hits, walked one, and struck out two.
The Panthers (7-14, 1-4 SLIAC) face Webster on Tuesday night.
