Baseball Receives No. 3 Seed in SLIAC Tournamen

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Greenville baseball team has earned the No. 3 seed in the SLIAC tournament which begins Friday, May 13, at Principia in Elsah, Ill., and Gordon Moore Park in Alton, Ill.Greenville opens play in the double-elimination tournament on Friday at Principia against No. 2 seed Blackburn at 3:30 p.m. No. 1 seed Webster will play No. 4 seed Westminster at Gordon Moore Park simultaneously.The losers of these games meet at 7:30 p.m. at Principia, while the winners play at 7:30 p.m. at Gordon Moore Park.Action on Saturday, May 14, will be held at Gordon Moore Park. It begins with teams with one loss playing at 3:30 p.m. The winner of this game will play the undefeated squad at 7 p.m.A final game, if necessary, would be played at Gordon Moore Park on Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m., or Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m.The Panthers currently have a record of 23-17 (16-5 SLIAC), and they have set a school record for most SLIAC wins in a season. The previous record was 15 wins in 2001.
